We were guests on Escape to the Country!

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of being on BBC's Escape to the Country, as the featured guests who had already Escaped to the Country!

When we were first asked to take part in the production, we were sat having a morning coffee at our family's home on Vancouver Island. A long way from our quaint country cottage in the heart of Dorset, U.K.

When we got the original email, we thought that it was an elaborate scam, and didn't think too much of it...

Until we saw that they had not only reached out to us via our joint instagram account (@doinggrownupstuff vlog channel), Peter's art instagram account (@PeterDixonArt) and Joey's music instagram account (@JoeyClarksonMusic), but also via my business email and Joey's email!

Thank goodness they did reach out using so many different avenues, or we really would have brushed it off as scammers trying to steal our personal information.

As long time watchers of the program, we were absolutely gobsmacked that they wanted us to be featured guests on an upcoming episode!

The only problem?

As we previously mentioned, we were visiting family in Canada... and they wanted to film the episode in the next week!

An opportunity like this doesn't come up very often, especially when they're offering to feature your artwork, and your music. We knew that we would have to take it.

So, we cut our trip home short and, with the help of our friend Rachael, we were on a flight back home to Dorset, UK a few days later - to participate in the filming of our Episode of BBC's Escape to the Country.

The team was incredible. Everyone was so kind, and in such good spirits. It was a real pleasure to meet the people who make a program that we genuinely enjoy watching, and an even bigger pleasure getting to be a small part of an episode.

We're thrilled to have had the opportunity to be a part of it!

If you're interested in checking out the episode we're featured on, you can find us in S25, Ep15. It's a beautifully crafted episode from start to finish, and had us laughing to the point of tears at some of their edits.

A big thank you to Ash and his team for representing our family, art and music so well. We really appreciate being asked to be a part of it!

xx

P.s. If you want to check out Peter's art, which was featured on the episode, you can do so here!
